Welcome to Northside Elementary!

Welcome to the 2011-2012 school year! As with every year, our staff is committed to ensure that our student’s educational experience at Northside is superior. Pushing each student to reach his or her greatest potential academically, socially, and emotionally is our desire. Our ultimate goal is to generate thriving learners in the core subject areas while also creating collaborative, critical thinkers in a multi-media world. Although tremendous gains have been made in these avenues over the past several years, we continue to settle for nothing less than the best. As our school motto of “Every Child, Every Chance, Every Day” implies, we take great responsibility to ensure that ALL of our students’ needs are met to the greatest extent possible.

I continue to be awed by the skills and dedication of our staff to this profession. We have an exemplary staff that has grown even stronger as they are always enhancing their instructional practices and make it a priority to understand each student’s strengths, interests, and areas of need. Many visitors to Northside comment that it is a very positive climate and feel a sense of great community. We strive to create an environment that is safe, positive, and where relationships are valued. Last year, we kicked off our Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) framework and our students and staff were thrilled with the success of the approach. We will remain with many of the same practices this school year which include explicitly teaching school expectations and acknowledging the many successes. In addition, we are very proud to share that Northside Elementary is being recognized as a Wisconsin PBIS Network School of Meritbased on the comprehensive model that the staff created.

Throughout the school year, we encourage our families and community members to please visit or volunteer time in classrooms. We appreciate your continued support in trying to make our educational system the very best. At any time, I encourage you to contact me with any questions or comments.
