The Monroe High School Student Senate is sponsoring Pennies for Patients Week - February 15-20, to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS). The week's activities are as follows:
FLOWER GRAMS Selling Red, Pink, and White Carnations on Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday (2/9-2/11): 1-$2; 3-$5. Flowers will have a message attached from the sender—whether it be from a significant other, friend, or anonymous admirer. Delivery will be the morning of Friday, February 12 during class.
SHOP & DRESS A TEACHER Beginning Wednesday, February 10, the ‘victims’ will be displayed in the office. Zany clothes and accessories will be ‘for sale’ and may be purchased for teachers to wear. Donate to the LLS by buying an accessory or team up with friends/class to purchase the craziest items. Teachers will dress up Wednesday, February 17.
SPUD FEST Monroe High School’s first ever Spud Fest on Monday, February 15 in the M-Room from 5:00-7:30pm. Will include a potato bar, chili, desserts, & more. Tickets are $6 and the Fest is open to students and the community. Three $25 gas cards will be raffled off—must be present to win!
RETURN OF THE FURY 2nd Annual Techno Dance on Saturday, February 20 in the Practice Gym from 9:00-11:00pm (following Girls Basketball Game). Tickets $4 at the door and water bottles will be sold for $1! Proceeds benefiting both LLS and Hoops for Haiti.
All proceeds go to the LLS to assist in their mission: Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma; and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.
