About Our Schools

The School District of Monroe is a K-12, student-centered school system dedicated to providing each child with a broad array of academic and co-curricular programs that will prepare them to succeed academically, technologically, physically and socially.

The District includes six schools serving more than 2,677 elementary, middle and high school students. Our classroom sizes average 20 students/teacher. A teaching staff of 271 and 196 administrative and support personnel are dedicated to creating a climate of high expectations for all students and ensuring academic excellence in all subject areas. The underlying goal of every class is to provide each student with the opportunity to achieve his or her potential through a superior education, continually preparing them for the next step in their academic lives.

Our curriculum is broad based, while reflecting an interest in the academic, social, emotional, artistic and physical development of the students. The District views education as an experience best served by the coordinated efforts of parents and the schools.The School District of Monroe encompasses six schools; three elementary, one middle school, one high school and an alternative charter school serving grades 9 through 12. Included within the district schools are a state-of-the-art performing arts center, an auditorium, a greenhouse, seven gymnasiums, a 400-meter eight-lane track, a football field, tennis courts, a baseball field and several playgrounds.
