At the opening District Inservice for the 2025-2026 school year, held on Friday, August 29, staff were recognized for their years of service to the District after the completion of the 2024-2025 school year. The School District of Monroe is proud to announce the 2025 recipient of our most prestigious honor, the Allan B. Holtshopple Award — Northside Elementary kindergarten teacher, Erica Zentner! 35 Years of Service

Created in memory of Allan B. Holtshopple, a beloved educator and colleague who dedicated his life to serving our district with optimism, kindness, and tireless dedication, this award honors staff who embody his spirit of professionalism, leadership, teamwork, and compassion.

  • MHS Science teacher, Carol Ochsner has received the Outstanding Earth Science Teacher Award by the National Association of Geoscience Teachers (NAGT).

    Mrs. Kathryn Zastrow, Social Studies Teacher at the Monroe High School, has been selected to receive an Honorable Mention for NBC 15's Crystal Apple awards!!!

  • Monroe Students Recognized with Presidential Academic Excellence Award

    The School District of Monroe has named 109 students in grades 5, 8, and 12 as Presidential Academic Excellence Award winners. The President’s Academic Excellence Awards Program recognizes students who have made a personal commitment to excellence. To receive this recognition, students must maintain a 3.5 or higher grade point average for their respective elementary, middle, and high school careers.


    Monroe Students Recognized with Monroe Academic Achievement Award

    The School District of Monroe has named 63 students in grades 5, 8, and 12 as Monroe Academic Achievement Award winners.  The Monroe Academic Achievement Awards Program recognizes students who have made a personal commitment to excellence.  To receive this recognition, students must achieve a 3.30 – 3.49 grade point average for their respective elementary, middle, and high school careers.


    The MHS Forensics Team Headed to State

    The MHS Forensics Team attended the WISDAA (Wisconsin Interscholastic Speech and Dramatic Arts Association) State Tournament on Friday, April 11th at UW-Madison. Students qualify for State based on their season performances at qualifying tournaments, and they compete in front of one judge to determine their medal at the State tournament.

    Abraham Lincoln Elementary is proud to be awarded the 2024 National Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education. 

    National Blue Ribbon Schools is the United States Department of Education’s award program honoring high-performing schools and schools that are making great strides in closing achievement gaps!

    The staff and students are beyond excited to receive such a recognition by the U.S. Department of Education.
