MMS - 6th Grade First Day Information (Sept 2)

Posted Date: 8/17/25 (8:00 AM)

Welcome, Sixth Grade Families!

The first day of middle school is right around the corner, and we're so excited to welcome your student! We've been busy planning a fun and smooth transition from elementary school. We're looking forward to meeting all of our new students.

Here's what you need to know for the first day of school:

  • When and Where: The first day of sixth grade is Tuesday, September 2, 2025. It's a full day, starting at 8 a.m. and ending at 3:28 p.m. On this day, only sixth graders and their eighth-grade WEB Leaders will be in the middle school building.

  • What to Wear: Students should wear comfortable clothing and supportive shoes, as they'll be moving around the building throughout the day. Please keep in mind that some areas of the school can be a little cool.

  • What to Bring: Please have your student bring a water bottle to stay hydrated. We have water fountains with bottle-filling stations on every floor. Your student will not need a backpack, school supplies, or musical instruments—we have everything they'll need for the day!

  • Lunch: Students have the option to eat a hot lunch or bring their lunch. The menu choices are chicken nuggets or taco/nacho bar. If your student prefers to bring their lunch, please be sure to label their lunch container with their first and last name.

  • Healthy Breakfast: We encourage all students to eat a healthy breakfast at home. While we will have a nutrition break, it will be earlier in the morning.

  • Arrival and Departure: To help everyone get to school easily, please note that students should enter the building from the playground, which is located on the south side of the middle school.
We know that transitioning to middle school can be an adjustment, and we're here to help make it a memorable year. We look forward to meeting your students and working with you to ensure a great school year.

 Sincerely,

The WEB Team
